Basic ballet concepts such as 1st and 2nd positions, plié and releve will be introduced. Fun, creative elements such as stories, games and other imaginative activities will keep the pace of the class lively and engaging. Tap will be introduced with a focus on rhythm and coordination.
*It is recommended students wear pink leotard with ballet skirt, pink footed tights and pink leather ballet slippers with no drawstring and black tap shoes with Velcro or elastic closure. Hair should be pulled back neatly in a bun or ponytail. It is recommended gentlemen wear a white t-shirt and black bottoms (pants or shorts), black leather ballet slippers and/or black tap shoes.
Tutu Ballet Plus Tap class runs September through May. The season ends with a beautiful recital which gives dancers a chance to shine in front of family and friends! The recital experience helps children build self esteem and contributes to a sense of confidence. The rehearsal process of learning a dance helps children develop retentions skills and the ability to work as a team. Tutu Ballet Plus Tap students perform 2 dances (1 ballet and 1 tap) + finale in recital. They will begin learning routines around the end of January. We have tried to make our recital as family friendly and enjoyable as possible. The recital is not mandatory to participate in this class.
