Jazz will be introduced using upbeat "kid friendly" music. Basics such as isolations, jazz squares, pivots will be taught. Tap will build upon basic steps and rhythms.
*It is recommended students wear blue leotard with ballet skirt, pink footed tights and pink leather ballet slippers with no drawstring and black tap shoes with Velcro or elastic closure. Hair should be pulled back neatly in a bun or ponytail. It is recommended gentlemen wear a white t-shirt and black bottoms (pants or shorts), black leather ballet slippers and/or black tap shoes.
Starlet Triples class runs September through May. The season ends with a beautiful recital which gives dancers a chance to shine in front of family and friends! The recital experience helps children build self esteem and contributes to a sense of confidence. The rehearsal process of learning a dance helps children develop retentions skills and the ability to work as a team. Starlet Triples students perform 3 routines in recital (1 ballet, 1 tap and 1 jazz) and finale. They will begin learning routines around the end of January. We have tried to make our recital as family friendly and enjoyable as possible. The recital is not mandatory to participate in this class.
